The Seaford Police Department is scheduled for a web-based assessment from August 14 through August 22, 2026, as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

Access to the CALEA standards can be obtained by contacting the department's accreditation manager, Lt. Valerie Horn at 302-629-6645.

As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments via a public access portal located at Accreditation Public Comment Portal. Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Seaford Police Department's ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc.
