PUBLIC NOTICE - CITY OF SEAFORD ANNOUNCES BUILDING & PLUMBING PERMIT FEE ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026
The City of Seaford Code Department announces an adjustment to Building and Plumbing Permit fees that will take effect on July 1st, 2026.
The updated fee schedule will help the City maintain high-quality plan review services, provide prompt field inspections, support efficient project timelines, and uphold public safety standards for residential and commercial development.
Updated Fee Schedule
Building Permits (Residential & Commercial)
Permit fees will be calculated based on project valuation
- $50 for the first $1,000 of project valuation
- $10 for each additional $1,000 of project valuation
Plumbing Permits
Permit fees will continue to be based on fixture counts:
- $30 base fee
- $5 per fixture
Important Information for Contractors and Applicants
Complete permit applications that are submitted and paid in full by June 30th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. will be grandfathered under the current schedule fee. Applications received after that deadline will be subject to the updated rates.
The City of Seaford currently enforces the 2021 International Building Code, International Residential Code, and International Plumbing Code.
