To apply for a position with the City of Seaford, please fill out the appropriate application for the position you are applying for. There are two different applications. One for any position within the Police Department and the other is for any other City position. Applications must be filled out in full. If submitting a resume, an application is still required. Chief of Police

Applications are being accepted for Chief of Police. Interested candidates must be able to meet the following:

Article 6 of the Municipal Code is a Residency Requirement. If you are selected and accept this position you must live within the Seaford School District. A temporary waiver under special circumstances may be granted for a maximum of six months.

Certified by the State of Delaware to be a Municipal Police Officer, demonstrate past experience in Administration, and hold the minimum rank of Lieutenant.

Education - Bachelors Degree preferred. Experience, training, and some college will be given consideration in lieu of degree.

Pay - Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Some benefits offered are health insurance, State of Delaware County and Municipal Police defined pension plan, life insurance, and paid vacation. A job description is available on request. Police Officer

Become a full time officer with benefits - health and life insurance, pension, vacation, holiday pay and overtime. This is an Entry-level position and shift work is required. Candidates must be able to successfully pass a written exam, fitness agility, psychological screening, polygraph exam, medical exam and drug screen. High school diploma required. All applicants are subject to a criminal history background check. Candidates with State of Delaware certification may seek a waiver on the written exam and are encouraged to apply.
