Council Meetings
Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. To request a copy of the minutes from a past council meeting or the agenda for an upcoming meeting, contact Tracy Torbert at 302-629-9173 by phone or 302-629-9307 by fax. Minutes are also available on this web site.
Elections
The City of Seaford's Municipal Elections are held annually on the third Saturday of April.
Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. For questions regarding building permits or zoning, please contact our Code Department at (302) 629-9173.

Code Department
The Code Department is responsible for enforcement of all codes and ordinances adopted in the Municipal Code of the City of Seaford. This includes, but is not limited to, the housing code, zoning ordinance, water and sewer fee assessment, violation enforcement and the 2003 International Building, Residential and Plumbing Codes. We review and issue permits for commercial and residential construction, signs and demolition.
Please refer to our list of permit applications below to see if a building permit is required. Note that permits **ARE** required for decks, garden sheds, swimming pools, and siding. Permits are not required for fences (but must conform to our codes).
Please contact the Code Department to verify if a building permit is required. Our department handles a variety of inspections. Please refer to your building permit for a list of all required inspections. It is the contractor's responsibility to schedule an inspection. Please contact our office to schedule an inspection at least 24 hours in advance at 302-629-9173.

City Facilities
The city operates eight facilities to better serve its residents. These include: City Hall (which houses Administration, Finance, Code and Economic Development), Wastewater Treatment Facility, Power House, Electric Department, Public Works Department, Police Department, Parks and Recreation Facility, and the Volunteer Fire Department.
